    Beoport with Beocenter 2300

Hi, in my set-up I have a Beocenter 2300 as an audio master (through a beolink converter). I would like to be able to connect a Beoport in order to get N.Radio and N.Music on my link speakers (Beolab 3500, Beolink passive and Beovision 3).

Will this work? There is no need to get the N.Radio on the Beocenter 2300, but I would like to be albe to start N.Musik from the rooms where I have the link speakers.

    Re: Beoport with Beocenter 2300

    Hi

I had a similar arrangement some time ago but I disconnected it.  With the BC2300 on the network, there are no problems when you activate CD or RADIO and the unit performs OK.  However, when you activate NMUSIC or NRADIO and only expect BeoPort to perform, the results can be strange.  Since the NMUSIC and NRADIO codes are the same as the old ATAPE2 and PHONO codes, the BC2300 seems to respond to these and will start up in AUX mode if I remember properly.  So you will get your BeoPort music in the link rooms but the BC2300 will be on at the same time.  This might be irritating or you may be prepared to live with it.

    Regards

    Geoff

Thanks for the answer! Do you remember if you had the Beocenter2300 as audiomaster (or did you have some other audiomaster)?

    Re: Beoport with Beocenter 2300

Now that I think about it, the BC2300 and the BeoPort were in the same room as the TV.  The TV must have been set up as the master (option 2) and the BC2300 would have been option 0.  Can't remember what option I set on the BeoPort, but it was also configured with no IR detector connected.  The NMUSIC and NRADIO signals were then received and distributed by the TV.  All of this was masterlinked to the link rooms.  It was fun to fiddle around with this arrangement at the time but now, most of the equipment has been disconnected and simplified.
