Beomaster 4500, Beogram 4500 and Penta 1 weirdness

    Hi all,

I'm hoping some one out there can give me some assitance regarding my 4500 and Penta 1 setup.  Here's what's going on: one of my Pentas will kickout (the light goes orange) after approximaetly 30-min of playing time when I'm using the 4500 Beogram CD player.  The speaker works fine when I'm using an iPOD through the AUX inputs.  I have the tape player but have not used it recently.  The speaker will reset to green after I unplug it.  Any ideas?

Also, in an unrelated or maybe related issue, the mute function on the 4500 no longer works.  Again, any ideas?

Thanks in advance for any help ypou can provide.

    Hi,

Im no pro on Beosystem 4500 but I have a Beomaster 7000 wich is pretty near connectionwise :P. Just make sure that the speakers are connected too the Speaker 1 connections and not Speaker 2. The mute-function will not effect Speaker 2 at all.

On Penta1 issue, do you have them connected via "speakerlink" (4-pins special DIN) or with "normal" speaker-cable (2-pins special DIN)? I had Penta1 a while ago that was abit hard to run good on the 2-pin normal speaker-cable but played good on the 4-pin connection.

    Hope anything of this helps

This normally happens when you have the speaker leads plugged into the wrong speaker sockets on the back of the BM4500. Double check that you haven't plugged them into Speaker 2......It must be speaker 1
