    Beomaster 5000 communication with Beolink

Hi.  My Beomaster 5000 and corresponding Beolink are seperated by a piece of furnature.  This was never a problem until recently.  Now the Beolink communicates fine with the 5000, but reads "no communication" indicating that the hifi is not communicating back.  When placed directly in front of the 5000, two way communication is fine.  Does anyone know of any reason (besides batteries - they're new) that the two way communication should fail all of a sudden?

    Welcome to BeoWorld!

To clarify and help assist: You mention a "corresponding Beolink" and "two way communication" ...having a BM5000 -do you mean the MCP5000?

The MCP 5000 has two IR transceivers - one at each side. You may find that one has stopped working. You can tell by photographing it  with a digital camera when sending a signal. In your case it may be that just the receiver is not not functioning on one side though.
