    BL3000 panel amp

    Hi all

Had some of these for some time just got round to re mains wiring em , now done.

Bootred 'em up today one works one doesn't - checked the output of the transformer and it appears to be working - i therefore assume the problem is the standby board - anyone any ideas - the units worked about 2 monthsa ago when first acquired.

When rewiring all i touched were the transformers ie remove from unit rewire replace!

My idea is to transfer units from the working unit one at a time to check and id the faulty board then work on that, however, other ideas gladly welcomed!

    salut a un p*ssed off stotty1111

    Ok guys

now got the unit to boot up and work, ie stdby light on permanently even when in operation , also, the display will not work when set to indicate source  although speakers are fine!  ----    ideas please have remade all plugged joints etc  -  duff indicator panel?

also when shut down the speaker emits an intermittent buzz, about 4 buzzes every 90 secs when set to audio or video, but as maybe would be expected silent when in stdby ie using speaker mounted switches --  a duff cap??

    help

    Hi all

Having read another post re mk2 / 3 cables tried another mk 2 and it works checked the original lead a core had come adrift - now still got a slight noise problem in that the speaker may have interferance on it as it keeps making the sound as per if the remote is in use - any suggestions?

PowerLink Cables - fully mounted (all pins connected):

Recently Powerlink Mk II has been discontinued and replaced by a NEW TYPE called "PowerLink Shielded"
    - a fully mounted and double shielded cable with a diameter of 5,5mm and available factory mounted up to 50m

The main intention was increasing the possible lenght of PowerLink-Cables in a system and to reduce interference with external equipment.
The improved shielding between data for the display and the audio signal should also help to reduce / eliminate these "buzzes" during remote control operation.

A new Power Link Junction Box - B&O PartNr 3132055 is also available - if you want to customize the lenght without soldering an 8pin plug ;-)

    Hi there

    thanks for that!

the units seem to buzz all the time at very low noise level even when the remote is not in use ideas?

;-) Assuming that you are not a "B&o trained sevice technician" - the only thing you can/should do is:

    - disconnect your audio and/or video equipment and the panel-amps from the mains.

    - disconnect/reconnect all PL plugs !!several!! times - this cleans the pins and improves the contact - sometimes this helps!

    - if not ... the largest "antenna" to pick up electrical noise (amplified in your panel amp and delivered by your speaker as "buzzing")  are
your PowerLink cables - change them to the new double shielded 5.5mm version as mentioned in my previous posting.

    - if not ... after 20 years, at least for BL3000panel amp - let your eqipment be serviced / cleaned / resolderd / calibrated by
      a B&o trained sevice technician ...

    good luck!

    Re: BL3000 panel amp

thanks again for that, in fact earlier today I had anothe r play - put the speakers into mute mode - no buzz , then changed  the pl's round the buzz from the other speaker confirms the antenna view - I need to get longer cables anyway as I am in the process of installing the panels etc, will go for the revised cabling!

    Again thanks for that!
