    the right furniture for beolab?

    good morning!

i would like to create a similar setup ( not that luxury...) with a bv 9 in the center and for now my beolab 6000, replaced later by a pair of beolab 9 . my question is: could these flat container (to hide STB, playstation ecc.) create soundproblems ? i'm not sure if there could be any negative influence especially when you set a loudspeaker with strong deep frequencies like bl9 on an empty wooden box.

    grateful for any suggestion

Does the BeoLab 2 cause any problems when on the cabinet?

What you could always do if you come across problems, is ask your dealer if he or she can supply you with some of the black rubber cable tidy 'snake' you see coming out the back of BeoLab 8000s, and run that around the inside rim on the base of the BeoLab 9s.

Ultimately, if your BeoLab 2 sounds fine, then I'd imagine the BeoLab 9s will as well.

    Zip it! Mybad!

I'd be a bit wary of it personally, although you could always just dampen it with the rubber snake.

There was somebody else on BeoWorld who had their speakers on top of a unit like that. It was either BeoLab 5s, 9s or a 2 with 8000s, I can't remember. Anyway, I seem to remember them saying they didn't feel it hindered the sound too much...

Ciao Gango! Da dove sei in Italia? Io sono mezo Italiano e mezo Inglese, e ero nato a Monza.

I don't personally have any experience with placing my loudspeakers on a hollow base as you are suggesting, but as long as the material is relatively thick and constructed very rigid, then you shouldn't have any issues. I must say I have never thought about this idea to hide the cables, and in a large sized room I guess this could look quite good with the correct materials.

I agree with Henry - I cannot see why a good solid constructed unit would make any more difference than a wooden floor, which is after all merely a flat enclosed box construction when you think about itSmile

I see no problem neither, the only thing is to make sure the furniture is able to keep the 130 kg of the BV9...
