this will be my new remote etc etc
In my dream B&O will do a app that can pilot all my B&O gears with Ipad
B&O won't do it, because they can't...
Don't bet on that......

>>Gotcha !<<
Yes, it is obviously overcoming some shortages of the Ipod Touch. I just won't buy it day one but wait until they release a 128gb or more.
Just note though that the Ipod application is probably weakest. Why can I download from Itunes store but can't grab anything from my own library?
Just one example. Why does that great UI experience ends there? why do I have to get up and dock it and then use my mouse to sync a piece of my own content .....

but I dont understand the screen format?? 4:3? it´s not widescreen 16:9!!!
I am hoping it has suitable video outputs, watching a movie on a ten-inch screen doesn't sound very appealing in widescreen or 4:3!

Can be connected to projectors, without any trouble. Will stream content from storage devices over WiFi.
It's the perfect tool for managing storage, retrieval, playback and transfer of all kinds of media content - while handily available.
JK seems to be missing the point.
And yes, all B&O need do is collaborate with PhilLondon in developing a Linkplayer App to run on this, with a B&O skin and perfect integration to B&O peripherals. They'd be smart to do so.

Where does it say that? Or do you mean through Mac Mini in the back and that Remote App?

There are rumors of this coming to an end in the (near?) future via Apple...
Uploading content once to a cloud and syncing anything anywhere in the Apple world.
Your are absolutely correct. The infrastructure is already there using MobileMe. Currently you can stream on your local network and ultimately will be able to stream remotely. Lossless will be available. Apple's acquisition of LaLa makes all this certain. I can hardly wait.

I have an observation on this announcement which is I think this is only the beginning. We only saw a small part of what will happen. They have yet to bring publishers onboard especially magazines and newspapers. For the iPad to be a worldwide product, they have much more work to do.
I saw the presentation on delayed video and I think they all looked a little tired. Steve Jobs is known to have a driven personality. I think they presented as much as they could to get the whole thing started. The amazing thing was the pricing structure with AT&T for 3G connectivity. They will probably try to do the same thing elsewhere. I know AT&T has problems but it works for me. It didn't work too well in Montana for me but it did work in the little towns.
I was thinking of a new iPod touch but not anymore. I will get a 64 gb iPad when its released in 3 months.

I wanna give a try on this one. Owner of the Alu iMac 24" and the iPhone 3GS, I was all the time satisfied by Apple's products.
I am waiting to se it in the flesh and to test it
Cheers,
Guy

>>h, come on. Be fair<<
Note that I have Ipod Nano for gym, Ipod Touch for Travel, Macbook Air for Work, IMac fro Home. No Windows here. What I need is a decent way to get my music onto my Beolabs. Think a stylish Sonos.
I was hoping this is it, but its just a bigger Ipod Touch. I don't need that.
I know you are mac-friendly fellow. What about the pad in combination with the mac mini server? Losless music on the mini (with the calming comfort of a raid 1 device), delivering music digital to beolab 5 (still to buy ), controlled by the pad. I am sure something like this will be possible. And adding the infinite possibilities of the pad, even more with 3rd party apps. Nothing beosound 5 comes even close...
.b
Amen to that!

It´s unbelievable good value (read: cheap).

Yup, can't get a Beo5 for the same price... And the Beo5 is good value! I was thinking the iPad would be close to 1000 euros. Seems likely it will be 499 euros...

Assuming that most pople wil not be using the iPad for bulk storage the built in memory seems perfectly adequate.
At this price you could achieve multi-room by having an iPad in each room connected to multi-terrabyte NAS solution for less than the cost of a single Beomaster 5/Beoound 5 combo.
Simon
Simon, you are making me nervous!
That would be a real nice setup. Best part is, that certainly someone will jump on this, even if it's based on iTunes. Music is changing and so are we.

I won't bet on it, since I never bet, but honestly the software attempts from B&O for the last 10 years have been pretty slim compared to what's out there...

B&O has worked with Apple products before. There was once an Beosound Ouverture/2500 prototype which could be controlled by an Apple Newton around 1993...
But.. an B&O App running on the iPad.. It would indeed be something worth investigating... sure now that BeoNet is around the corner...
The race for quality has no finish line- so technically, it's more like a death march.

2 weeks after the release of the G model...
Just enough time for the lines to die down, wouldn't want her to hurt her feet standing for hours!

Fantastic ... think of the delayed gratification ... having to wait only another 45 days after the 14th of Feb
;-)
First B&O (1976) was a Beogram 1500 ... latest (2011) change has been to couple the BL11 with the BL6Ks *sounds superb*
