Disassembling a Beocom 6000 wall charger

Hi, I'm trying to do a hidden installation of the wallcharger by drilling a small hole through the wall into a wardrobe on the opposite side.

How do I disassemble the wall charger? I do not want to make a hole big enough for the power supply.

I guess I could just cut the cable, but I would prefer to disassemble the charger.

    Thanks, Peter

Re: Disassembling a Beocom 6000 wall charger

    Hold your horses!

I've done this without any dissassembling or cutting. I used a plastic pipe (in Swedish "VP-rör"). There are two types of VP, standard and flex. Unfortunately I couldn't use the standard one as I had to hide the hole on the other side 20 cm to the side.

I drilled one 16 mm hole behind the wall charger and one on the other side of the wall (behind the refridgerator in the kitchen). Then I managed to insert a steel wire through the wall and then I could place the plastic pipe in the wall. I removed the power cable from the wall charger and inserted the cable from the other side by dragging it with the wire.

Maybe they've changed the wall charger, but one mine the power cable is attached with a plastic jack. This jack will fit in the 16 mm pipe. All is then hidden by the wall charger itself.

Hi, they must have changed the design.

The cable now goes into the charger through a small hole on the back.

OK, then I would just cut the cable and use a "sockerbit" to reconnect it again in the wardrobe.

Yeah, propably the best thing to do. The leads might actually be soldered to the pins inside the charger.

I may be wrong on this one, but at some point the connection from the cable and into the power supply was indeed a plug... By using a bit of strength you could turn it 90 degrees counter-clockwise and pull it out of the power supply. I would estimate this plug to be approx. 8 mm in diameter.

I'm not sure if the charger still is made this way, but it is worth a try.

You are right! It is a plug. I never looked at the power supply end of the cable.´

Thank you both for your help.
