Happy new year everybody!

I'm starting this new thread to fill a gap in beoworld : there is no page with informations about the latest software version available for all B&O common platforms that are updated frequently : BS3, BV8 and BS5.
We could update this thread each time a new software is released with the full changelog (so you can see what things have changed for your specific products. I'm writing here the changelog for the common BS3/BV8 and BS5 softwares, you can complete it with past releases and give me the correct software n# for current versions (I don't know what's the latest software n# for BV8 and BS5). Maybe I should update this first post each time a new software is released.
If someone has the changelog for BV8/10 DVB HD tuner (which is updated separately and can be done bu the user), it could be interesting to post it here also!

  2. Possibility of naming individual sources, e.g. the source name “PC” can be changed to “MyMac”. 
     The option is present on all sources connected to an AV connection, but not on built-in sources.

  · Distribution of HD signals via HDMI/CAT7 cables to link rooms using an HDMI Matrix (third-party equipment).

SW 8.02 (Build 551) - 03/2010

SW 7.05 (Build 551) - 02/11/2009 :

1. No menu, no overlay menu, no curtains (Build 548).
2. Menus and OSD disappeared (Build 548).
3. BeoSystem 3 freezes when receiving DTV+CINEMA_OFF from standby (Build 548).
4. TV does not go into standby, and standby diode is blinking (slow flash) (Build 548).
5. Intermittently the television switches off (Build 548).
6. ACM crashes when source is YPbPr in High-Definition (was solved in Build 533) (Build 548).
7. No volume bar after using EPG in DVB-HD (Build 548).
8. Panel info says 50 Hz and not 100 Hz (Build 548).
9. No link control of DTV source (STB), if main room television is in standby (was solved in Build 533).
10. Lip-sync on Blu-ray does not match.
11. Timer on DTV-RADIO. Turn on to last shown TV (DTV) channel when link TV is connected.
12. Non B&O screen: Screen switches on when switching off from audio mode.
13. Not correct channel is showed when Play timer from another favourites list is programmed.

I very much welcome your initiative!! Information about B&O software updates, both sw number and functional changes, has always been very high on my wishlist. So if you can manage to update us on a regular base it will certainly be highly appreciated.

Andreabang : don't try to change anything in that menu, it's the service menu, not a customer-level menu... So if you don't understand, don't touch!

Teletom : I don't receive information about each B&O software update : sometimes I can get ones from my dealer, sometimes from Beoworld... It's a public thread, so everyone with informations about SW can help!

I have been missing this for a while :-)

I unfortunately have to add, that 7.05 also speeds up the fans with dramatically increased fannoise as a result. (at least on 7-40 MK IV)

Dont know if the updates are intended to be discussed here, or only presented ? If the latter is the case, i apologize :-)

By the way : I updated the BS5 part with yesterday's software update. If someone can give the full changelog, it would be perfect!

A 7.11 version is coming for Beosystem-3 based TVs. Apparently, the fan issue is fixed according to some "beta testers" from the Beoworld Scandinavian forum.

Latest Software is software version is 6.33 with a part number of 8344431. No idea about the improvment made by this software but it should make the TV HdReady.

Hopefully this discussion will get pinned. 

7.11 is hopefully a significant release. I'm hoping for fixes to the fan issue, resolution of picture quality degradation with 7.05 in both SD and HD versus 6.xx and bug fixes to Blu-Ray drive. I've gone back to 6.11 currently as 7.05 was totally unacceptable and our B&O engineer felt more comfortable with it due to other customer issues he had seen.

So i was told by my dealer who has been in contact with the  B&O tecdepartment multiple times since i told him about the problems i had. 

But then again, i have been disappointed with the latest softwareupdates, so i guess we just have to wait and see. If it is anything like SW 7.05, we will probably experience some brand new issues like flames coming out of the cabinets or what do i know :-)

I dont know that but like you i hope for massive improvements. However, my experience tells me not to get my hopes up, remember that SW 7.05 passed the quality test (???), and so did the latest DVB-HD updates. B&O are NOT very good at this, and even though we will probably see improvements on some issues, there will undoubtedly be other and new issues. And then we will have to wait ANOTHER 6 months.

Lets hope that this update is THE ONE that proves me wrong :-)
