    RL 140 Speakers

    Hi,

I have 2 RL-140 passive speakers.  On one of them, the 6.5 inch speakers are buzzing when played at louder volumes.  Can they be repaired?  Is there anyone in the USA that can do this job without messing up the original sound.

I am sure they can. The service manual is actually on site - I would not be surprised if the drivers need the surrounds replacing. Whilst there, get the capacitors in the cross over replaced.

If the foam surrounds do need replacing then it wise to have them done sooner rather than later otherwise the drive coils are prone to wearing rendering them irrepairable. I don't think replacement drivers are still available for these.
