    Beolab 6000-problem?

After a long time simply reading this forum, i finally have a need to post. I have a Beosound 3000 connected to Beolab 6000, and recently i've begun to notice a quiet "hiss" when listening to cd's above volume 40-ish. I can't tell whether this is a problem with the speakers or just me being fussy. I also have a Beosound 1 and dont seem to notice a hiss when listening to it. Any ideas about the cause would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Robert.

I suppose you need to identify the source. Try some headphones if you have some and see if it is the 3000 rather than the speakers. If not, and it is the speakers, is it getting worse. If so, I would have them looked at. How old are the 6000s? There was a modification made at S/N 10741008 to improve the tweeter protection as they could blow and either go mute or distort.
