Hi,
In general you can't run Windows Vista ultimate (64Bit) and BeoPort. It only worked in (32Bit). Now Microsoft sells Windows 7, which is in general a 64Bit System. Before I support microsoft and buy Windows 7, I would like to know if BeoPort will handle it. Which version worked well? Home, professional, ultimate?
thanks,
Martin

Re: Windows 7 and Beoport
But still no 64 bit support
Will B&O ever get around to supporting this mainstream architechture?

Re: Windows 7 and Beoport
true ...
Version history - BeoPort
Version 5.03.00
New features included:
- It is now possible to use BeoPort with Windows 7-32 bit.
If you are using BeoMedia 1:
- You are not required to download this new release, but are encouraged to:
- if you experience problems using your current version, or
- if you have updated to a Windows version not supported by the current version
- The Guide for the new release does not describe use with BeoMedia 1 and therefore a separate Guide (available in English only) must be used.
Error correction:
- A number of minor error corrections have been made.
System Requirements
- OS
- Windows® 7 (32 bit)
- Windows® Vista, Service Pack 2 (32 bit)
- Windows® Xp, Service Pack 3 (32 bit)
- Internet connection
- One free USB port
- DirectX 8.0 or higher
- Windows® Media Player 9.0 or higher
First B&O (1976) was a Beogram 1500 ... latest (2011) change has been to couple the BL11 with the BL6Ks *sounds superb*

Re: Windows 7 and Beoport
Hi Martin
If you want to run 64bit version of Windows 7 and Beoport, I think you should go for Professional, Enterprise, or Ultimate. These three editions have a 32 bit XP mode in which you can run your "old" 32 bit programs. I haven't tested it myself though but I have read in a beta test forum somewhere on the internet that it works fine with the USB interface to the beoport (atlease for the beta and the Release Canditate of Windows 7).
Someone out there have tired?

Re: Windows 7 and Beoport
I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate (64bit) and have downloaded the Windows Virtual PC/Windows XP Mode software and have been able to run Beoport in that environment. The object of the Virtual PC software was that you could run old 32bit software from your Windows 7 desktop without a full emulation of Windows XP running...brilliant!
HOWEVER, the clunky Beoport software will not run this way due to the way it is docked on the sides and therefore you have to run a full emulation of Windows XP to use Beoport, so it does not come on at start-up and you will have to alt+tab each time you want to get to the software. A small price to pay but its very unlikely B&O will update the software to modern 64bit processor systems.

Re: Windows 7 and Beoport
Hi,
PentaIII, did you have any problems when you installed Beoport in the Windows XP mode?
I have a new notebook with Windows 7-64 Professional. I also installed the Windows Virtual PC, but when I install Beoport in this mode, the installation stops, when it starts installing the USB driver. The first window appears with message `installing USB driver..`, after that it should command me to connect the Beoport USB. But this window with the command never appears. Finally, I can press cancel and all files are removed.
Did anyone install the latest software on a Windows 7-32bit system? If this works, I would downgrade my notebook to 32-bit, because Beoport/Beoplayer is the main software on this PC.
Thanks in advance,
hangglider

Re: Windows 7 and Beoport
Hello,
Answer from BeoCare for the 64 bits issue:
Dear Mr Gourrier,
We are pleased to see that you are the owner of Bang & Olufsen products. We are planning a software for BeoPort that is compatible with Windows 7 64 bit to be released in the beginning of 2010.
Kind regards, Bang & Olufsen a/s
Wait and see...
Yann.
