    Beocenter 2300

Hi , I am new on the forum as I have just inherited a system from my late father. It is the Beocenter2300 with 6000 speakers.

There appears to be some sort of fault on it. When I turn it on, there is what appears to be, a loud earth hum. This does not go away but is covered once I start to play music.

I have disconnected all the inputs except the CD and also the speakers. Using the headphone socket only and a new pair of headphones the hum is still there. This seems to point to the 2300 itself.

Anyone any ideas, Could it be a common fault that is easily fixed.

                                                                                      Thanks Hec

I wonder if this is a power supply issue. There was a fault on all these type of CD player which required a modification - I wonder if it was done in this case. It is actually a warranty fix, even now, so if it was that, it would be free!
