    Question regarding Beomaster 1600

I just picked up a Beomaster 1600, for very little money, I am not going to tell you how much I paid for it, well just a few bucks.

No manual, nothing with it, it powers on, I figured out how to get it going, the tuner is really great sounding, even without the antena.

The problem is volume, it is kinda stuck at 2, it will not go forward or back ward, but you can move the rubber belt for bass. treble etc. with no problem, just the volume it will not catch.

The second thing is speaker connection in the back, I connected one speaker only while holding the speaker wire that was the only way I could get it to stay in the socket, if I let go, it will come off. Is there a speacial connector for it.

Anyone has any idea what could be wrong or may be I am doing something wrong?

I just joined this forum, and hope that one of you can help me with this.

    Cheers

You need two pin DIN connectors for the speaker wire.

The volume control issues are due to the clutches slipping - the mechanism is plastic and tends to bend - not one of the best designed mechanisms. Sometimes a bit of a clean can help but be careful as the plastic will be brittle. The top of the receiver swings up - there is even a stay inside to hold it up. To get there, there are two small screws on the front which are removed.

    Re: Question regarding Beomaster 1600

Thank you for the reply Peter, those connectors you mentioned, are they available in any electronic parts store, or some other place, is there a way to get them online?

The two screws you mentioned, they are in the front but at the bottom, yes?

So once I remove the screws, the entire top moves like a car hood, is that correct?

Then what do I use to clean this belt?

I know too many questions, but what I heard from one speaker, a Paradigm Atom, original version, was incredible.

How is the B&O products compare to say  high-end separtes?

    Regards
