    Re: BEOVOX 45-2

Probably the magnet that has become lose and has locked the voicecoil.
Sadly, that's very common, especially if dropped or shipped with inadequate packing.
Try pushing the cone inwards (gently! and don't push on the center dome) and feel if it
will move or stands completely frozen.
If frozen, find a good original woofer and replace.
If it moves, the problem lies elsewhere, maybe a lose wire or a defective crossover filter.

    thanks dillen,

i'm afraid, the bass driver is completly frozen. no moving at all... sound comes out but really bright and the midrange driver has a sticky surface. is this normal? what do you think about replace-drivers from visaton? i know it's not original but they are new.

    thanks

If you can find an original woofer, that would be the best.
I have yet to hear a modern replacement do the same as the original.
    Others may disagree.

I am not sure if I have any more but I'll have a look and let you know if I do.

The phase link unit has a sticky doped surface as standard! Good luck in finding a new woofer.

    thanks dillen and peter,

the beovox 45-2 is only a interim solution. i'm looking for the right setup for my beolab 5000, i've found some beovox cubes, what i'm looking for are some beovox 3000. what about some beovox 2400? they've also the din connection for the beovox cubes?

    regards
