    Beogram CD5500 stopped playing

My CD5500 was working fine, and as I was stepping through tracks, it stopped responding.

When I insert a CD it spins up and stays on track 1, and then stops spinning.

    Help!

These develop faults in the control circuitary around the laser - if you are lucky, there is a fix involving replacing a capacitor - if not, you need a new laser asembly. Have a look at this thread which is most informative.

Do you know where I can get a schematic and board layout diagram?

The service manual is on site - you need to be a silver or gold member to access these.

I located the manual and ran the diagnostics in Service Mode. I get a continuous 4 flashing. I followed the post you suggested. Does this error relate to the bad capacitor everyone keeps talking about?

Beoworld is a fantastic place. Full of nice and helpful people with a huge amount of knowledge to share.
Advice and guidance is always free, the only thing we ask is a little fee for access to a huge selection of manuals, catalogues and
other nice info in the form of a membership. Beoworld cost money to run and we are depending on members support.
If you prefer not to support Beoworld, I suggest you ask for further advice regarding the fault on your CD player where you
    got the servicemanual.
