    Beovox RL 60.2

I'm about to pick up a good-condition set of RL 60.2s.  I'm thinking of pairing them with my Beosystem 5000 (Beogram 5005/CD50).  I can't find much on these speakers in this forum though.  Anyone have any advice?  Are they known to have any significant problems/issues?  Is it worth spending a couple hundred bucks on these puppies given the decent quality of speaker you can get for that price nowadays?  (For the record, I'm currently running Polk Audio RT4i speakers with the little Beosystem.)

My other option was to pair them with my older Sony STR-6800SD receiver.  I suspect they might be slightly underpowered for that particular piece of equipment, but I haven't had a chance to hear them yet.....

    Thanks!

    Re: Beovox RL 60.2

    Hi Greg,

Have you looked HERE for spec's? I quite like these speakers although they aren't to everyones taste and they really benefit from being wall mounted or paired with the original floor stands. I ran some for a short period through my 5500 system with no problems at all and were quite a good match.

You won't have many problems with these as the drivers have rubber surrounds so you won't have any foam rot problems as with the earlier RL60's. The only minor problems you may encounter are the straps degrading & snapping and aging capacitors in the crossovers.

    Chris.

The use of metaphors should be avoided like the plague. They're like a red rag to a bull to me.

Yeah, I checked out the specs and everything of course.  (I had a pair of RL 60s years ago, but they had some driver issues so I got rid of them pretty quickly.)

I was wondering more about their quality as speakers go (especially compared to the high-quality stuff you can get for a reasonable price nowadays), and any known issues.  These are in great shape with the floor stands.

They would look fantastic with my Beosystem of course, which I am really looking forward to.  :)

They are really quite good - if one was being critical, the bass is a bit muddy and single note and the top end is less clear than the S type speakers, but they are easy to listen to and go loud! They were actually designed to go with Japanese systems originally.
