I have been donated an Avant 28 VCR type 81/13 (50 Hz Mk ii/iv I believe).  Nice picture (apart from slightly crooked RHD curtain) & good sound.

My query is simllar to one earlier this year which did not provide a specific answer - My source (not connections) menu choice is limited to AV despite there being three SCART sockets (1 for the built-in VCR).

Is the third SCART (should be decoder ?) usable ?  Does it require a specific video format such as RGB or Composite to be set on the source (a Virgin STB or PVR ?

PS  I am also unable to access the system info via Menu / Setup  / 0 / 0 / Go as some posts have suggested (zero does nothing).  Is this again a 'feature' of the software on this earlier set ?
