    Beogram 4004 tracking problem

I have a Beogram 4004 and just recently I've started having tracking problems.  When I press the start button the player starts as it always does, however, the tonearm lowers just shy of the record.  I can press the button and move it over and lower it again and the album will play; however, I notice that the tonearm is not traveling parallel to the tracking arm.  The lamp is still working on the tracking arm, so what could be the problem?  I recently moved the player to disconnect another piece of equipment and after replacing the 4004 back to its original poition is when I started having the problem.  Can someone please tell me what I should do?  thanks

    Re: Beogram 4004 tracking problem

    Welcome to Beoworld !

The sensor and lamp in the arm parallel to the tonearm is not for tracking but for record sensing.
The tracking lamp and sensor sits at the foot of the carriage in a housing shielded from ambient light.
The tonearm should be parallel to the sensor arm when the tonearm is lifted. If they are not parallel, you
will have to find out why.

I think that I fixed my problem last night by adjusting the tracking force.  What is the recommended tracking force?  The range is from 0.5 - 1.5g on the scale.

    I'd say maybe 1.4-1.5 grams.
