    BeoCenter 7700 static

Suddenly my BeoCenter 7700 has static noise when playing either the radio or turntable.  When I hit the RESET button the noise disappears...for about two seconds, then it returns.  Anybody know what may be causing this?

    Re: BeoCenter 7700 static

Hello and welcome to Beoworld !  Yes - thumbs up

There are quite a few grounding leads inside, they are all black and running from board to board and various
    other (metal) things.
Maybe one of them has broken off, I would start looking around the processor module.
Could also be a ground connection in a plug, cracked solder joint(s) or similar.
Finally, capacitors can never be ruled out, they can cause the strangest faults.

    Martin,

Thanks for your reply;  I didn't expect a response so quickly.  Now that you've identified some of the possible causes I

have to tell you that I don't possess your technical knowledge.  So, another question:  Do you know where I can access

some kind of illustration that identifies such as grounding leads, processor module, capacitors, etc?

    Thanks,

    Tlincoln

The service manual will show you how the Beocenter is made. It's available for download from the our main site for
    silver and gold members.
Obviously a job for a tech guy, I wouldn't recommend you open it yourself unless you are a trained technician.
