    Re: BV-10 screen sizes

    But I'm assuming this 'wonderfully engineered' BV10 won't come with a BS3. So it's basically a BV8-40 in a new shell?

I wonder if the new shell will have Samsung and Bang & Olufsen imprinted on each clam?

It's the same chassis as the 8-40, 7-32 mk5, and soon to be BeoVision 6-26.

    So,

The only difference is the glass-plate and led-technik.

    What about the sound?

    Is it better?

Think of a slimmer (less bulk, less frame) BV5 mounted on the wall...

Same chassis doesn't mean same number of connections : let's hope they put a 4x1 switch in the BV10 instead of the 2x1 of the BV8...

Do you really believe that? The BV10 is supposed to be mega-thin. I wouldn't be surprised if B&O *reduce* connections. Hell, they can't get the RF box in to the back of a BV9 or BV7-40. How would they get a HDMI switch in to an ultra-thin BV10?

Unless B&O drastically change their engineering ethos, I don't see how this is going to happen.

Maybe it will have a socket panel!

Seriously, though. If B&O has taught me one thing over the years it's that regardless of the number of connections they'll see to it that you can only connect 75% of them and still be able to fit the back cover on it.

The socket panel was one brilliant idea. I hope they do consider it as a standard from here on in for almost every product. I remember stretching and contorting with a flashlight to install my old Avant, and the BV8 wasn't all that easy either... Makes me glad the Beosound 9000 isn't all that difficult compared to those two beasts. Sal
Love B&O, but no longer addicted.

    Re: BV-10 screen sizes

Is "socket panel" the large metal plate on the rear of most A/V products with red, white and yellow connections? If so, then I prefer stretching and contorting myself to fit the back cover on. B&O should design their products to look good from the rear, too!

The BV 10 is a slimline TV meant for wall-mounting, so socket panel might work in this case.

My dealer told me that BV 10 would not look like BV5/BV) with thin frame but it will have speakers on each side of the screen. It will also have a contrast screen. I am not sure about design, perhaps we all expact to much. Still the best designed TVs from B&O would remain BV7 and BV4+9 for a lot of money:=(

Sure....if you can hide it! The Beocenter 2 has a huge socket box and there's no-where for me to hide it. As most Europeans rent their apartment/house, you can't always go digging up the floorboards or hiding it in a wall. My BC2 socket box is on the wall for all to see.

Your dealer fibbed to you. It looks like a BeoVision 5 with BeoVision 9 proportions (i.e. the speaker is not equal to the screen). The frame is also considerably thinner around the entire piece. There is no acoustic lens. For 9 out of 10 people it will be so close to what you're imagining that you'll think you have psychic abilities!

    It looks VERY sexy!

My dealer confirmed it today. He will see it in the beginning of september. Looking forward to further information. Sounds like a great new BeoVision.

    It´s not magic - it´s Bang & Olufsen

hi i wonder if any of you have heard about the new bv7-55 excactly the same as the bv7-40 only difference being that it is a 55 inch screen

    Re: BV-10 screen sizes

Has anybody an idea if the BV 10 will get the BS3 and/or a Blueray drive?

It would also be interesting if it will be a LED TV?

I am not sure if the BV 7-55 is exactly the same as the BV 7-40: It should be possible to put a HDR2 into it, it sould be a LED TV, and it should have a similar motorized stand as the BV 4-103....
