    Beomedia1 / Beosound4

    Hi,

I have a Beomedia1 connected to a Beosound4 via ML and the audio is connected to Beosound4 via A-AUX.

At first I thought that the audio came through ML, but I suppose it doesnt.

If I press N.Music on Beo4, Beomedia switches to N.music and Beosound4 writes N.music in display. That nice, but there is no audio.

Isnt it possible to have a setup only with Beomedia/Beosound4?

Only if I press A-AUX on Beosound4 I get audio, but then I loose all the N.music info

    Re: Beomedia1 / Beosound4

    Hi there.

I think there is another problem since I have almost the same setup in my house and of course the music from Beomedia1 does come out from the BS4 I have two floors downstairs.

You do not need to have the audio connected as well. Check with your cabling and if options are set the right way.

It should in principal work like you have it setup without the A.Aux or V.Aux cables.

    Best regards

    Hi,

if the sound is coming out when you press AUX then you must have some connection from the beomedia to the beosound ...

what happens when you disconnect that connection and press N.MUSIC ?

[ I have a BeoPort connected via ML to my Beosound 4 and it works exactly as it should, but there is no way for me to connect my BeoPort via the Aux-in ]

First B&O (1976) was a Beogram 1500 ... latest (2011) change has been to couple the BL11 with the BL6Ks *sounds superb*

    Re: Beomedia1 / Beosound4

    Two issues.

First check the ML cable because I think there is something wrong from that side. It should work directly from ML to ML without any additional cables. (Remove anything apart from the ML cable, Reset and then restart.

Second thing, check your Beomedia setup that it should listen to the PC command and also check if it can work with BS4 Option 6 and Beomedia option 2. Also if you have an IR eye on Beomedia remove this as well.

    Best regards

    Hi,

Beomedia is set up to listen to PC command. BS4 Option6, BM1 Option2.

I removed the IR eye on Beomedia1.

But now I cant control the Beomedia1. When I press N.Music, BS4 doesnt start up.

I will try to change my ML cable. I think your right. Something must be wrong with the ML

I think that 99,9% should be the ML cable!! Just make a new one and give it a try. It should work.

If the BS4 is in option 4,5 or 6, it would work for CD and RADIO but would not be able to control N.MUSIC.

The BS4 should be in option 1 or 2.

Also, Have you tried to disconnect both from the mains for 10 minutes?

    Re: Beomedia1 / Beosound4

Hi Phil, I think this should not be a problem. If BS4 is set to option 6 it can of course bring up the net music as a local link product provided that the Beomedia1 should be in option 2.

Anoher point and maybe it's stupid but have you already switched on, on BS4, the N.Music option? (If I remember correct I think it needed this)

I would also try this: Put BS4 Option 2 and Beomedia Option 2 but remove the ir from Beomedia to check it as well. By the way, what speakers do you have on BS4?

    Best regards

Either the BS4 is option 2 and the BM1 is option 6 or the BS4 is option 6 and the BM1 is option 2. Both should work, but the first is what the PCG recommends.

2 and 2 should not work as there would be two audio masters on the ML network.

    Re: Beomedia1 / Beosound4

In case of 2 and 2 indeed we would have double commands so.......

But Option 6 or BS4 and option 2 of BM1 should do it. Come on try it and let us know!!!!!

    Best regards

Another question... Is the BM1 connected to a TV? a Beovision?

Are the speakers connected to the BS4, BM1, TV?

    Re: Beomedia1 / Beosound4

    BS4 option6, BM1 option2 doesnt work.

I have no TV in the setup. Only BS4 connected to BM1 via ML. I have BL5 connected to BS4

Only options in BM1 are 1 and 2 (VM)

    Re: Beomedia1 / Beosound4

    Hi!

    I have a setup with BM1, BS4, AVANT32DVD, BEOLAB4000 in main room. MX4200 in link room.

I get n.music and n.radio info in BS4 - but no sound. I get no audio in ML when using n.music or n.radio.

BM1 functions with AVANT32 (V.AUX), I get audio from the BM1 standard audio card. I do not get audio from the recommended BM1 audio out (under ML connection).

Did you solve your problem BBHE?

    BBHE:

    BS4 option6, BM1 option2 doesnt work.

I have no TV in the setup. Only BS4 connected to BM1 via ML. I have BL5 connected to BS4

Only options in BM1 are 1 and 2 (VM)

The BM1 is like an enhanced beoport/beopc2 with its own software onboard, unlike the pc2, which needs a pc to function properly.

So, the BM1 needs an audio(or video)master in the system. And that will be the bs4!

So option 2 for the bs4 and option 1 or 0 for the BM1 is the correct setting.

The '"PC, Vaux, Vtape2" setting isn't important, as the bs4 asks for the BM1 over the ML with the NMusic/NRadio instruction.
