Beovision MX7000 Type 78/83 GDT SW2.0 Screen goes blank after 5 minutes use

Have had the lovely MX7000 for about 5 years now just when I was ready to watch another exciting series of holby city the TV went into standby.

I would like the schematics for this TV or the fault finding list of somekind or maybe a electronics whizz to come round and fix it for me.

     Surprise

Thnx for your help in advance

Is the MX working or still defect?

If it is possible to start the MX and watch some minutes TV, then some capacitors are defect and need replacement.

Or was there a noise "....ssssssSSSSSS....". Then C102 has killed the deflection transistor...

OK, that's the better choice :)

More or less ALL electrolyte capacitors need to be replaced on the mainboard. Use 105 degree low esr types, not 85 degree standard. They fail because of age and the heat in the power supply.

Sorry, replace all of them. The only one that can stay is the big 150uf 385V. This one is a good one :)

    Martin,

Thank You for your response I myself have bad eyesight I have to tell my son what to do??? what do I need to order to get the job done?

I am not an electronics chap but understand "parts can be replaced on a board, " My son will do the re-solder of replacement parts"

I just wish that that after paying such a high price for B&O they would supply the scemetics to help do the job?

Yes B&O are the best in design & sound Fantastic but I since losing some of my sight I cannot perform the tasks I used to.

I tried to get the schemitics for the MX7000 but only availavble for gold members.

well I am sorry but I cannot afford the monthly subscription fee, advice is free here but a picture paints a thousand words.

Please could you supply a picture of what I need to change?... I can then give this to my son whom is 16 yrs still doing electronics course at college.

    thnx in advance

Just in case  there is a misunderstanding you can get access as a Silver member and it is a single fee (£15) that covers 12 months membership.

    Hope that helps,
