Beomaster 6000 from the 80's left channel noise

    Hi

I have just bought a Beomaster 6000 that looks almost new - and what a beauty. Only problem is that left channel is noisy and scratchy and needs to be fixed.

I think it is the potentiometer, but perhaps some of can give me a clue. I have tried to 'massage' both balance and volume. Problem got better though sound was still noisy and scratchy. If it is dust in the potentiometer it can be cleansed with an airspray or some chemicalsubstance. My Q is if I need to take the reciever apart for cleansing the potentiometers. Worst fear is of course if that left channel is gone and needs total fixing. If any of you have had the same problem or know what could be done I will be glad to hear.

    Best regards Henrik

    Hi hmt0507

You have to spray a chemichal called contact cleaner directly into the pot normally  there are a little hole in the pot then turn it clockwise and anticlockwise several times urntil the the noise are gone

    regards
