Harm in updating XP in Beomedia?

Is there any potential harm in termporarily overrriding the firewall setting on Beomedia to let it update XP to SP3 and subsequent updates?

When I contacted US Beocare and asked why I couldn't view the new Beosound 5 website on my Beomedia, the first answer was "I think you should be able to see a B&O website on a B&O product designed to do so."

But whe they looked into it, I was subsequently told "No, you can't view this website on your Beomedia."

So I performed an update as above, and updated the Flash and Shockwave players by disabling the firewall for a short time.

Now, I *can* view the Beosound 5 website.  That got me thinking about other possible updates to Beomedia.

    Any Thoughts or ideas?

    Thanks

    Barry

    Hi bsantini

As the beomedia essentely are a computer using xp you just have to download upcoming updates from Windows Update and 3party software
