A pen B&O would have made?

    http://www.lamyusa.com/dialog.html

I have one, the clip is part of the release button, which works very smoothly if too softly, but sometimes doesn't engage.

But the pen that I like better as a writing instrument (and actually a better value, too) is Lamy Swift.  It gives you more "feel" when engaging the retractable release button.   Only complaints are that sometimes the ink leaks, and the barrel comes loose so it needs be checked and tightened every now and then.

Also, that retractable clip release mechanism is a bit sensitive especially if foreign matters enter through the opening.

I personally like the Beoworld pens... Bit of a mind bender when you first come across one, and perhaps not quite in the same league as above but quite ingenious in a way B&O would understand!

I have a B&O pen ... which was a gift from a dealer ... and which I think is an engraved LAMY ... ask your dealer if he has one !

First B&O (1976) was a Beogram 1500 ... latest (2011) change has been to couple the BL11 with the BL6Ks *sounds superb*

I collect Fountain pens - possibly the equivalent of record players! The pen I can see as and older Beogram would be a Lamy 2000 - a classic Bauhaus design. Nice materials and good gold nib. Also a piston filler so lots to keep one interested. The only problem with it being a B&O equivalent is that it is too cheap - about £100!

Modern B&O can probably be equated more to Mont Blanc. Good pens but a slight triumph of marketing (Made of 'Precious Resin' = plastic!). I do have a Mont Blanc but I prefer my other makes like Aurora, Pilot and Conway Stewart. My favourite make is Onoto - this used to be a subsidy of De La Rue, the bank note makers. Recently reborn as a new company, not quite the same but still very upmarket. They are making a pen for me at present, I hope!
