Question regarding BV8, Apple TV and getting sound over masterlink.

I borrowed an AppleTv from a friend for a couple of hours last night.

Nice little box that connected to my Beovison 8 nicely.

I´m now thinking of the following setup, (I´ve searched in the forum and did not really get the info I needed):

In my living room have my BV8 linked to my BS3000. I have Beolab 3 connected to the BS3000.

I want to connect an AppleTV to the BV8. (I have understood that I have to input the sound over analogue connections, to be able to forward it out on the Masterlink).

    Questions:

    1) Will I be able to, in a convenient way, access the sound from the ATV over the ML to the BS3000&Lab3:s? What command on the Beo4 will I use for that? (I do not need the sound to be played over the BV8 simultaneous. I just want to view the music library.

    2) Will I be able to access the sound from my Beolab 2000 linked in my kitchen?

    3) Is there a recommended way to connect the ATV to the BV8? The quick solution I found was to associate the AV2 input (HDMI)  to "DVD". Not so logical but it worked. V-AUX is used for my STB.

Note: The Lab3:s are placed in a way that I do not use them for TV sound. Hence, I do not need them to be connected to the BV8.

Thanks for any advise on the above.

    /C

Re: Question regarding BV8, Apple TV and getting sound over masterlink.

It would be very simple to do if the speakers were connected to the TV. As they are not connected, I am not sure how to get the music to play from the speakers as well as have the display on the TV. Perhaps run the audio to the Beosound auxiliary input and then use a one command to turn the TV on and aniother to turn the auxiliary on?

If the Beolab 2000 is connected by Masterlink it should be no problem to hear the sound in the other room. We do exactly that with a pair of Beolab 6000s.

I hope I understood your question correctly. Hopefully someone here who knows much more about this than I do will have some other suggestions.

    Thanks for the reply.

If i have the speakers connected to the TV rather than to the BS3000, how will it work when I play a CD on the BS3000? Do I have to have the TV switched on?

Yes the TV turns on but the screen doesnt. So you dont actually have the TV turned on... Confused?
