    BeoSound 5 - sales

What do U think is the new BeoSound 5 selling good? I am thinking on customers which do not know a lot about of computer, don't know about downloading mp3 files, ripping CDs etc. I think there are a lot of such customers (old generation) with money to buy B&O.

I think for such customers it is more simple to put a CD in a BS3200/9000/4 etc

Absolutely spot on!  I have difficulty opening a box of matches & so ripping CDs would be a nightmare.  I'm sticking with my mint Beocentre 9300.

I only hope there will be enough of young generation customers with money prepared to buy this new product as young people do not have lot of money:=(

Although I am beyond 40, still feel young... you buy B&O over time. Just got my BS5/BM5 last weekend and the ease of how it integrates into an existing link system, the ease with which it integrates with your PC... marvellous. I am not a "techie" that's why I enjoy B&O.

On another note. Over the years, I have been working in different countries and have bought my B&O equipment in different cities across Europe. You always get excellent service, there is always a very competent technical support and even when some elements of your B&O equipment are beyond 10 years, they don't show you the scrappage bin...

I think BS5 will sell great, with the regular software updates it will stay up to date.

Customer reactions and sales tell me this was the right move at the right time. I think the opposite of these concerns is true, I think that investing $3-5k in a CD player is feeling a bit short-sighted in these times of wiser purchasing. Audio had all but come to a dead halt until the BeoSound 5 came out. Now it's selling as a stand alone system (which honestly just hasn't been happening very often in this video revolution we're in), and even driving larger audio/video sales instead of the other way around.

There is scarcely anything in this world that some man cannot make a little worse and sell a little more cheaply. The person who buys on price alone is this man's lawful prey. - John Ruskin

I'm only 18 years old and I study computer science.

So i know how to rip cd's in a "lossless" audio format.

My dealer offered to rip my cd's for me and place them on my beomaster 5!

So I would suggest to kindly ask you're dealer....
