    Re: Anyone for Coffee?

That is a nice Giotto. Nice grinder too.

I used to own a ECM Giotto. Very good machine only a bit loud.

Are you aware that the cuprack on top is front to back?

    Happy pouring and drinking

    Thx Teus :)

I realized that when I looked at it. In the old apartmen it did not fit. So when I unpacked the machine a few months ago I found it and just hang it on.. It is changed now :)

    Re: Anyone for Coffee?

    Hi,

My absolute best coffee is brewed from Ethiopian Sidamo beans freshly ground (manually) and a French Melior coffee maker.

I use Volvic pure limestone-free water.

In reply to; Does anyone has experience with this?

It is used to make "greek coffee".

Ground coffee beans put in water. Can be dilicious but contains lots of caffeíne 9might be a good thing) and lots of cholesterol (definitely a bad thing). The thing works and keeps the coffee hot but is net recommended due to health issues.

Any espresso maker is better for your health but worst for your wallet.

    happy (coffee) drinking,

    Teus

Thanks for your reply. I seldom drink coffee and as a consequence I don't have a coffeemaker. I have a teamaker by the same manufacturer that works on the same principle and use it on a daily basis. I love the simple principle and if you use good quality tea the results are equally good. Would love to have a coffeemaker with the same principle, but high caffeine and high cholesterol are a turn off for me. I guess I'll be stuck to tea and will be drinking the occassional coffee in restaurants. Wink

    Re: Anyone for Coffee?

i had a Gagia Titanium but it stopped working after 1 1/2 year ( paid 1200 euro for it!!!) and absolutely no one in Ireland can fix it. The shop I purchased it in no longer stocks Gagia (Brown Thomas Dublin). So i just bought an Nxpresso  Machine and now I drink coffee from a pod...its ok...I like Roma or any of the 7-10 strength coffees.

Gagia were extremely unhelpful and I would never again buy any of their over-priced gadgets...in the end, a good Caffetiere makes a perfectly acceptable cup of coffee,...... providing you have good coffee!!!

    Re: Anyone for Coffee?

Gaggia's are Saeco internals with a slighty better / more expensif exterior.

If you can find a Saeco repairshop, they can should be able to fix your Titanium.

As long as it works the Titanium is a machine that makes an excellent espresso but build quality isn't the best. Current models are worse, just like the Saeco they are based upon.

If ever you decide to get another machine, trie a Jura. A C5 or F50 are comparable to the Titanium and costs about €900.

    Or maybe a Ena pink?

    Jura Ena for Pink Ribbon

Most mornings we have coffee around the corner, delivered by a blonde (Mon-Thu) or a brunette (Fri-Sun), much better than a pink machine Laughing

First B&O (1976) was a Beogram 1500 ... latest (2011) change has been to couple the BL11 with the BL6Ks *sounds superb*

    Re: Anyone for Coffee?

For Christmas I received another coffee maker! Now I don't have to haul one around from house to house! Laughing

This Cuisinart bests my Hamilton by 2 cups of capacity, insulated jug, inbuilt water filtering and a few more buttons!

In response to the Scanomat coffee 'tap' - as it can be controlled by iPhone I bet it can be controlled a Beo5.

I'll bet you can control it with a Beo 5. I hope that company is successful. It would be great in a Beo Home video advert.

    Re: Anyone for Coffee?

Valve1......I tried Gaggfia Uk  - utterly useless shower of buggers...they had zero interest in resolving the problem. As useful as a chocolate teapot.

I even sent an email to italy in italian and english - didnt even get a reply. Id rather drink tea than touch any gaggia product in the future. Ill stick to my Bewleys Java like u!!!!
