    BeoCom 6000 change firmware

    Hello !

Wonderfoul forum, nice people. Nice to meet you.

I'm writing about a Beocom6000 (cordless telephone) with Germany firmware . It doesn't works in Italy (the country where I live)

Can I change the firmware ?

What kind of interface I need ?

Where can I find the firmware ?

    Thank you so much

    Re: BeoCom 6000 change firmware

A very warm welcome to Beoworld.

The firmware in the Beocom 6000 and its base can be uploaded from a PC using a special service jig and B&O software in a PC.

Not all B&O dealers have the facility themselves and would often send it to a B&O service centre for software upgrades etc.

Below is a picture of a Beocom 6000 handset service jig

Have you got a pinout of this interface ? I could build it by myself and update with your firmware.

I hope that you resolv my problems.

    Best regards Daniele

    Daniels,

It's not that simple. It does use a standard RS232 interface from the PC, but you will need the firmware and the Beocom software service Tool, as you have neither, it means you will need to take it to your B&O dealer for update.

    Re: BeoCom 6000 change firmware

Thanks for you fast answer !

Build an RS 232 interface is not a problem for me. I could use a MAX323 chip ora a simple BC transistor. I'm working in a mobile phone service centre and I update mobile phone every day.

Build the cable is the easiest thing

I suppose that the 2 pins are TX and RX or TX and ground.

the problem is the firmware and the flash program

    Re: BeoCom 6000 change firmware

No, you misunderstand, the jig plugs directly into the PC comms port and the RS232 signal is already generated within the Beocom 6000.

If you take the battery compartment off  the phone under the led you will see two small holes with gold pads which are the transmit and receive signals as below:-

Wonderfoul ! we only need the firmware and the flasher

    The pinout should be simple

    COM PORT PINOUT

Have you got this firmware or do you know where I can find it ?
