    No USB connection with Beo5

When I connect an USB-device, I'm used to get the message: "New Hardware found...".
When I connect Beo5, then nothing happens - except the message on the Beo5 Monitor "Charging".
Tried it on 2 different computers and 2 different laptops. Beo5 was switched off before placing on the craddle.
What am I doing wrong? Is it possible that the craddle is defect? I just bought the Beo5 and wanted to start programming with the config tool.
    Regards

    Hello Claus,

the Beo5 needs to be fully charged before you can start programming. Otherwise it will not be recognized by your PC.

Try plugging it into the mains for a few hours and then try again.

    Regards

Re: No USB connection with Beo5

    Hi Alex,
I thought that one night is enough?

Does the display change e.g. "fully charged", or does it always remain on "charging" as long it is in the craddle - even if it is fully charged?

    Regards

    Hi again Claus,

yes one night should suffice. Usually the loading time is around 5 hours or so.

The display will not show fully charged afaik. But you can check the battery status in the setup menu (press Stand-by + "go" Button).

Try to move the Beo5 a little on the charger to the left and right. If this does not work, change the USB cable.

Do you by any chance use a USB hub? If so, try to connect the Beo5 directly.

I am sure your dealer will allow you to test a different table charger to see if that is the problem.

Which firmware is currently installed on your Beo5 ?

There was a charging issue with some older firmware, you can find threads in this forum regarding this topic.

    SW.Version: 1.20a
But I don't think that it has something to do with the (older) SW, because the device is not detected at USB-Hardware-Level.
I will try to test if it works with another craddle (at my dealer).

...just want to let you know: There was a Hardwareprobleme. The B&O Service changed the complete Display and now it works perfectly.
