Well, not so very tricky to install but I guess the normal user need some expert help to locate the BM5 on his network at home. I actully searched for the installationen guide for Beomedia 1 and used that one because the delivery didn´t had any specific information about the technical part of the installationen.
I connected an ordinary PC-screen to the DVI and a mouse and keyboard to the USB and then it could be configured that way. But how to find the configuration menues you have to get extra information as above.
I loaded one of my Erik Gadd CDs in my new computer and choosed lossless format. I can say without doubt that the sound was better in my BL8000 than before using my BS9000. That was really an very positive experience. Unfortunantely the Beoportal didn´t hade the cover for his CD so I guess I need to scan it.
To be followed...

Google the cover instead. That's what I do if there are covers missing in iTunes. Google/image search

I sure will, bring the companys digital camera home this evening. Later I can write a little more extensive review if somebody is interested.
Well regarding USB, the technical salespeople at my B&O shop tell me that is the way to do it. Here is a link to the installationguide I used, some differences because it is for Beomedia 1.

I`ll be in touch, /Ingvar

Thanks Ingvar, I'm also looking forward to reading your review and seeing some pictures of the BM5 interface on your TV.

Sorry but no photos this evening but I can tell you that the covers nice and gently are displayed on my BL7-32. There are at least two modes, on is fullscreen and one is with information about the track played underneath. When you choose full screen the CD name and track name is displayed for a while under and above. That is also displayed if you change track or cd. I guess you need nice cover pictures..
Time to sleep

So the CD cover is fullscreen? And how does the interface compare to say, an Apple TV?

Hi Ingvar,
have you imported your own music and are you using MOTS? I love it. It`s really great. I`m listening to music I didn`t even know it`s in my collection. And Beo promised an improved version for the next update in summer (christmas?).....
The TV interface is just Beoplayer. You can see it on the B&O site in PHOTO mode.
One bad thing: composite out of BM5 is not yet working, so no picture on link TVs...! should work in the next update (hopefully).

hi can you post a pick of the tv interface, does the album art show when your looking for an album to play? and if so is the cover bigger than the small icon that beomedia has next to the album title?

MY favorite B&O dealer called me last night and told me there was a pressrelease from B&O that gave information about coming features;
Support for NAS, picture on Link-TV, forward/rewind in tunes, support for DRM and some other stuff that I have forgotten.
Will comeback with more input after my further testing...

Support for NAS is good news! Ingvar, can I ask you, in terms of connecting your BM5 to your TV, do you simply use Masterlink for sound, and DVI/component/composite for video? I.e, you don't need to connect analogue audio inputs, the ML carries sound from your BM5 to your TV?
Did the press release mention a 2 way remote for use in audio only link room setups where a TV cannot be used for navigation?
Robert.

Well i haven´t seen the information but he also mentioned a better communication with BEO5. But i only have BEO4s so I didnt listen so mch on that
At this time I connected to the TV via analogue audio and didn´t testede to just use the Mlink and DVI. The remote actions I guess use the M-Link for instructions to the BM5.
The time is a little limited so I havent done all fun stuff that I wanted, just now I´m ripping CDs an masse. Brgds ingvar
