    BG2000 + BS9000 and Beo4 = Workable?

As topic state; I've connected my old BeoGram 2000 to a BS9000 and trying to figure out how to get the audio out from the BS9000. To be mentioned is that I know that it works since it has earlier been connected to BC9000. The Beo4 used is of latest version. I did try to controll BS9000 with BeoLink 1000 and when pressing Phone resulted that N.Radio started.

Well you first problem is that on later Beo4's. N.Radio replaced Phono, they use the same I.R. codes. You will need Aux to operate the Aux connection on your BS9000. There will be no Datalink compatability between the the two though as the Aux connection has no Datalink connections. It is a 7 pin socket but only 5 of the pins are wired up. Also you are going to need a seperate Phono Pre Amp (RIAA) as this is built in to the phono connection of the Beocenter 9000.

Aux is what I tried and as you confirmed I need phone Pre Amp since I can hear the sound very low if I cram up the volume really well. Guess that I will have to look for a small pre amp then. Datalink I can live without so no worry there; though it would be nice if it worked. Thanks for quick reply also Craig.

Did some more searching and while I'm not interested of spending loads of money on a RIAA amp I guess that the NAD PP2 seems like good pick, or?

Well, quick follow-up; I got myself a NAD PP2 and now everything works just fine and it's kind of great to have the Beogram 2000 running together with the BeoSound 9000.

Once again thanks for quick reply Craig!
