    Beogram RX2

I've recently acquired a sharp looking RX2. I've set the tracking weight to 1.5 (mmc5 cartridge and stylus). However i'm noticing some distortion when the stylus reaches the center of the record that's playing; higher frequencies sound washed out and static-y. It's noticeable but not drastic. Any suggestions?

I'm also wondering how to remove the platter so as to adjust the leaf springs?

I imagine the cartridge is getting a little tired which explains the first symptom. The MMC5 will be 20 years old and the suspension will be getting less compliant. This is the least well specified of the range and it will be the least successful at tracking high frequencies.

The platter just lifts off - a piece of stiff card inserted between it and the surround should enable you to lift it up. I agree that this is needlessly tricky! Laughing

    Welcome to Beoworld.

How difficult is it to adjust the springs beneath the platter? Secondly, is reattaching the belt difficult?
