    Beogram 6000 - not working

Can anyone throw any light on what has gone wrong, and how I can fix my turntable; it doesn't rotate when I press the 'Start' button, although it does rotate when I hold down the 'Turn' button. Any assistance would be appreciated.

Sounds like a switch problem as the motor is clearly working. However Martin is the expert here!

Re: Beogram 6000 - not working

There are two versions of the Beogram 6000, one has a radial arm, the other tangential. Since you mention a TURN key I suppose you have the radial version. It won't start (and rotate the platter) without a record on it (TURN will still work though !) If you have a record on the platter and it still won't start there is a fault somewhere.

First thing to check would be the start button which contacts have a tendency to oxidate, try pressing it slightly harder than you would normally do, use "controlled finger-force" or repeatedly.
