    Beosystem 3300 - help - newbie

    Hi

We have a 20 year old Beosystem that has to date been working just fine. Now there appears to be intermittent problems with the sound on all the components (Cd player, tape deck and record player). We have been focusing on the CD player as that is the main piece we use. The disc spins but rarely get sound (occasionally a gritty sound that suddenly plays on loud - no adjusting sound level once it's on!) We have checked all the wire connections and there doesnt appear to be any loose wires or connections.

We are complete newbies with no manual so any advise welcomed!

If it affects all the components, I would suspect the Beomaster. If the CD plays and works its way through the tracks, I would suggest it is OK. The3300 in common with much of this era of systems made by B&O suffer from deteriorating capacitors and variable resistors.

These can be replaced and will return the system to as new. You need either to repair it yourself if experienced or find someone to do it for you if not. Where do you live?
