    Beocom 2000 won't dial

    I have a lovely yellow Beocom 2000 phone but it suffers from several problems. First, it won't dial in either the tone or pulse mode. There is a dial tone when I pick up the receiver but when I dial a number the dial tone remains. Second, the sound in either speakerphone or normal mode is very faint. Third, when I pick up the phone after it rings I can't hear the voice on the other end.

    Any ideas of what might be wrong? Thanks for any advice.

    Doesn't sound as if it does much more than act as a paperweight! A couple of thoughts: is it designed for the market you are using it in? It could have the wrong wiring to the plug. Member Nobby is the Beocom 2000 expert so he may offer some assistance!

    The Beocom came to life today for no reason that I can fathom. I had it for a couple of weeks with the above problems, and today for the first time it works . . . I am surprised but happy.

    Your initial fault description sounds more like a bad cable connection from the phone to the line and the fact it has started working again seems to support this fact.
