i was closely inspecting the counter weight dial on the back of the tone arm and it seemed a little bent. [the back of the tone arm that is.]

i was able to disconnect the the dial from the tone arm and then put it back. what i am asking is, it doesnt seem to effect the performance of the records playing as of yet, but  is this normal wear and tear? is it something that will have to repaired over time? is this something that happens do to the weight of the dial?

any answers would be great appreciated.
