I just recently acquired a US Beocom 3.  The phone is in excellent condition and everything appears to function with one exception and that is the speaker phone "speaker".  I have the speaker phone volume cranked up all the way and it is not nearly as loud as my Beocom 2500, which is not a true speaker phone.  The previous owner indicates this is the way it has always been for them.  Is this normal? 

 Also, I learned that the Earset 1 home will not work as a headset for this phone and I need to use something like a GN Netcom from Radioshack, What, if any headsets do you use or recommend?

No way Roger. I own the same phone and the speaker is quite loud if you raise the volume. It's a fantastic phone. Never used it with a headset though.
