I'm about to move into a new flat which has one of those BT wireless hubs with a phone attached and digital TV through the phone line    (you know, that stupid advert they keep running with the guy dropping his towel  hehe)

I have Sky at the moment. Will I be able to connect my BV5 to the phone line TV and more importantly can the beo4 control it like it does Sky?

Also, what about my com2 and com6000?  Can I use them with this BT hub thingy?

No questions in my view are "silly questions"

The fact that your new home has a "BT wireless hub &phone" does not stop you using any other phone including the Beocom 2 & 6000

You will have a phone line which is ADSL (Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line) enabled which means you can use it with any analogue phone such as the Beocom 2 or 6000 and at the same time broadband services.

If you do use analogue phones then you MUST have a "Micro Filter" on each extension which has an analogue phone.

A Micro Filter looks as below:-

Provided you do not have any restrictions in your new property related to having a dish, then I would keep with Sky.

I take it Sky Digital signal is in your opinion much better than the BT option? I'm not sure its a possiblity to get Sky to be honest - will the BV5 not work with the BT phone line TV at all?

When you are talking BT you are talking about BT Vision.

BT Vision is a digital TV service which offers digital TV (using Freeview via a TV aerial), a digital video recorder (called a V-Box), and supports TV and video content that's accessed on-demand over a BT Broadband connection.

Many see Television-over-Broadband (known as IPTV), or Video-on-Demand as the future of television. BT Vision's offering combines Freeview, a hard-disk recorder (for recording and live pause), plus access to on-demand content.

So, you will need a good standard aerial for BT Vision which provides the Freeview channels which you can get with any Freeview STB.

What it provides extra for a charge is "On-Demand" programmes and films. Have a look HERE for full details.

I would suggest that as you have a Sky box which currently works with your Beo4 via the STB controller you keep with it provided you are allowed to use a Sky dish in your flat

 However, my sky box is staying in the old flat. The new flat already has the BT vision with the V-box installed (WOMEN!!) and up and running - I would much have preferred Sky but I'm not really sure its an option although I will look into and do a certain amount of arm twisting if need be  ;o)

As your new flat already has BT Vision, it also means that your aerial is good, so no problems watching all the Freeview programmes, I guess it really depends what kind of programmes you enjoy watching.

If the Freeview stations are as much as you will ever want, then stay with the BT Vision you already have in place, but you will have to use the BT remote I am afraid as the STB/PUC does not have this unit.

From an integration with your Beovision 5 using the Beo4 as you have previously used, it would be a reason I would try and use Sky even if you only watch the "Free-to-Air" channels.
