So, got the mcl "passive" to power up my cona and cx100s in the bedroom.

Problem:

I connect the powerlink cable (brand new) to the amp and to the mx4002 and plug the speakers in (first just to the cx100s) to try out, plug the whole thing into the mains, under menu on the mx4002 switch the powerlink socket on and low and behold no sound! the mcl lights up but i don't know why it won't work.

Tried it out with the avant - same thing - the guy that sold me the mcl guarantees it works perfectly and I believe him - but I know there must be something here I'm doing wrong - I do remember reading a thread about this problem before.

Can anyone help me?

By the way I've just noticed the din sockets seem to have 3 "holes" instead of the regular two - cld this be the problem?

 

Is the light on the MCL red or green?

If it stays red then you probably do not have a fully wired powerlink cable. It should turn green for the amp to be on.

Then I suspect your problem is the powerlink cable.

You need to use a Mk2 fully wired powerlink to switch the MCL on and the light will go green.

and, of course, it works perfectly with the Mk2 Powerlink!

I did tell B&O Cologne what I needed the cable for (you'd think they wld have known).  B&O Nürnberg (my favorite shop) knew exactly what the score was.
