I own a Bang and Olufsen Beosound 2300.

I want to hook my computer up to the system so I can use it to play my iTunes.

That is the best (i.e. cost effective) way to accomplish this? The computer will be in a separate room from the Beosound. Can I hook them up via some sort of cable that will connect directly into my computer. Or will I need to purchase a receiver. I would like to avoid the receiver optoin as they seem to be $500+ for good quality.

From my limited reading, you can use an ipod cable, connect from your computer's sound card line out, and then to the AUX of the BS2300.

I am not sure about the sound quality with this method. I have read also that buying a DAC can improve the sound quality and volume.

Since I am new to the forum, I am sure other members can shed some more light.
