DVB-T will soon be build into the System module, and it will get a great price reduction (the system module that is) Smile.

Is this for BV8-26 or only for BV8-32?

A dealer in Marseille (France) told to a friend of mine that the 8-26 wouldn't be available anymore in France because of no integration of DVB-T.

It's both. some of the early 26" do need a modification to the power supply. Cut be that there is coming a larger BV8 at some point.

And will this work with my old Beo4 (without DTV A.MEM V.MEM) or do I need to upgrade it or buy a new one?

DVB-T is an MPEG-2 decoder which in the UK means Freeview.

The question is, will this new integrated DVB-T also decode MPEG-4, lets hope so..

Thanks for that. Will this be an option if buying a BV8 in the future? My Freeview box is also my Italian channels box, so I doubt the built-in one would've been much use to me.

    Henry,

If you have a dedicated "Freeview Box"  via your standard aerial, then you will NOT be picking up any Italian channels.

I suggest you have a satellite STB which picks up the Freeview channels and many other "Free to Air" channels..

    Regards Keith....

Yes that's right Keith, my Freeview box is connected to the satellite outside. Do the majority of Freeview users have an aerial instead of satellite?

    Henry,

DVT-T means a MPEG decoder via the standard aerial. The "T" means Terrestrial

DVB-S means a decoder via satellite

"DVB-T is an MPEG-2 decoder which in the UK means Freeview."

And in France after december 2008 it will necessary be Mpeg4.
Will the BV8 have a Mpeg2 or Mpeg4 decoder? Pray...
    If someone knows?

Currently, no one knows if this integrated DVB-T will be MPEG2 & MPEG4, but lets hope it supports both..

I think none of the B&O TV or Beosystem 3 has MPG4 yet. Am I right?

    Hi,

Will this only be available for BV8? Or will it also be available for BV6 and BV7?

BV6 and 7 are now sold with DVB-T module already, in most markets.

There are two (2) current versions of DVB decoder namely the DVB-T and the DVB-T/S. These decoders only decode MPEG-2 which means not HD

The DVB-T can be fitted to the following Beovisions:-

    • Avant DVD  32"
    • BeoVision 3 32"
    • BeoVision 5
    • BeoCenter 6 26"
    • BeoVision 6 26"
    • Avant DVD 28"
    • BeoVision 7 32"
    • BeoVision 7 40"

The DVB-T unit which fits into the above Beovisions looks as follows:-

The DVB-T/S is a totally different unit and is a combined unit for satellite and standard aerial digital transmissions and is shown below.

It is used in Beosystem 3, later Beovision 7's and Beovision 9's

Todays DVB-T module can show Mpeg4, with a cam module like this in SD.
