    beosound 3000 queries

I have just secured a mint bs 3000 from fleebay on which I'm waiting delivery any day now.  I'm confused though. It's a small clamper version (which I prefer btw aesthetically), and described as a "later model 3000" thus apparently n.music ready, and "first sold in 2003".

Quoting from the blurb on this website however,

"BeoSound 3000 is the former Beocenter 2300 (first introduced in 199) but with a whole host of new electronics, features and look including a larger metal CD 'cover' and N.MUSIC. The new styling was released to the UK market in September, 2001."

Should a 2003 model not therefore be a large clamper version? And DID the small clamper versions have n.music capability? Surely to be a small clamper it must be pre Sept 01 production or have I misunderstood? The seller ought to know what they're talking about I'd hope as they're a B&O dealership.

If it helps, this 2672 bears serial number 15470*** with s.w version 2.0.

Oh, and it cost me £460 which I thought was a pretty good price too.

Can anyone shed any light on this please?

    Many thanks

    Dan

I read this listing and decided not to bid. There seemed to me to be too many things quoted which didn't make sense as you have highlighted in your post.

Judging by the serial number quoted, this unit was built in 2001 and is not a "latest version" but may well be N-Music compatible if the S/W issue no is 2.0

I would not worry to much as you have paid a bit of a bargain price anyway!

    Regards Graham

    Thanks for the reply Graham.

Well I'm obviously glad you didn't bid!  Was expecting the auction to go up to £600+ so chuffed really.
