    Beocenter 9300

    Dear All:

I have the opportunity to purchase a Beocenter 9300 for about $700 US dollars in mint condition.  Comparing to the 9500, which do you like best.

Also, how would I connect it to the current set up: BV 7, BS 9000 masterlinked to BV 7, speaker BL 9, BL 3?

    Thank you for your help.

    Dario

    Re: Beocenter 9300

I your case, where you do not need an amplifier, I would go for the 9300. The 9300 is almost the same as an Ouverture, and best suited for active speakers.

Great piece...it's a personal issue... i like the shiny 9500...the 9300 is brushed alum.....

You can actually use a switch made by one of the members here...that will allow you to switch between 2 masters and go out to the same speakers....very cool item...

You could also use a Russound speaker switch which you can see HERE

I am almost sure that the 9300 also was made in shiny steel, but you can't always pick and choose in the second hand market. Smile

Incorrect I'm afraid. Most 9300 are polished, just like the 9500, None of them are brushed but the very latest 9300 were MATT rather than brushed. This change seems to coincide with the change to the CDM Pro linear cd mech although I can't guarantee that.

I would favour the 9300 as it's a later model and a large number of spares are still available.

ahhh...thanks Graham....i've seen probably 3 of the 9300's and they were all the Matt...as you say...which looks brushed to me....so good info....

Compare the matt to the panels on a 9000 and you will see the difference.

Isn't the 9300 one-way IR only? If it is, then you might want to go for a two-way 9500, assuming you like the possibility of using a Beolink 5000 or 7000 (I know I would - the 7000 in particular is so cool it is untrue!)

    Sandy,

The Russound switch can only be used for switching speakers meaning passive speakers, so no it cannot switch active Powerlink speakers.

Yes, the 9300 has one-way IR only. Mine has the shiny aluminium panels, by the way.
