    need help with optioning

    Hi there...

I was hoping someone could help me correctly option my setup. My setup is as follows:

    Living room: BV3 (dvd1, sky+)

Front room: BC1 (sky digi), BS9000 with BL8000

Kitchen: BL4000 with Beolink active kit.

Everything is linked with masterlink cable.

Would much appreciate any help you could offer....

     Kind regards.

I wish I was the person my dog thinks I am.

    Living room: BV3 (dvd1, sky+)   V Opt 2

    Front room: BC1 (sky digi) VOpt 1, BS9000 with BL8000 AOpt 1 ( unless 8000 are plugged into BC1, then its VOpt 2, AOpt 0 )

    Kitchen: BL4000 with Beolink active kit. ( L Opt 4 ..or 6 )

Everything is linked with masterlink cable.

Also, unplug ML 's before optioning.  Then power down, plug in ML's and power up.  This way the Opt instructions don't "migrate" to other rooms, and also the stuff "handshakes" onpower up and should all work 100%.  Not all products need this, but its belt and braces to help ensure proper, do-it-once programming.

Will that work? Doesn't that mean that you have two video masters - BV3 and BC1? I think we have decide what you want to play in which rooms. I would be tempted to have one room as the master and have the Sky+ in that room so that it can be used elsewhere. You also obviously want the BS9000 accessible everywhere so this has to be an audio master. If the BC1 is the video master, then the BV3 will be Option 6 - a slave . You will not be able to access the DVD1 or sky box attached to the BV3 except in the Living room.

At a guess, you want the BV3 to be the video master and the BS9000 to be the audio master. (if so, let us know!!)

I was assuming that as each TV had its own SKY box, its an audio link, with local sources only on the TV's, each able the BS9000 - in which case the options would work as described - but if, as Peter writes, one is designated video master, the other becomes a slave.
