    Help Please

hello, I am new to this forum (in fact all forums) but I have an issue I could do with some advice on.

I currently have a Beolab 9000 CD system, 2 x 8000 speakers and an avant 28" TV with built in DVD.  I want to tweak my set up but without using my B&O TV (sorry - Hope i'm allowed to say that).  I don't listen to CD's and all my muisc is on my Ipod.  I was looking at a BeoCenter 2 with built in DVD player.....  Can I take an output direct from this to my speakers (as they have built in amps.) and would it work well with a non B&O Plasma (e.g Pioneer Screen).  Also can I connect my IPod into this set up.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You can certainly do this but you will lose a little of the integration by losing the beovision. The BC2 has a SCART output so can work with most plasmas. The iPod can plug into the Aux of the BC2 and if you get one of Ridax's clever docks, you can work it with your B&O remote.

However I wonder if you have thought about using a beoport with your computer? If you have a mac, you can then have control over all your digital music. If you have a Mac, you get full display on the BC2.

Thank you very much Peter, that is very helpful. I don't currently have a Mac. I just want to get a nice sound using the kit I have and a decent picture on a plasma. If I can ideally plug all of this into a BC2 and just get rid of my 9000 and my TV then I am a happy bunny.

Sorry mate but do you know if there is any digital (hdmi etc ) outputs on the BC2

     Cheers Mate

No HDMI at present. The SCART is RGB of course though. The DVD is SD rather than HD as well.

If you want to leave the b&o ship it might make sense to look at an upscaling dvd player if you are after picture quality.

Personally I just settled on a BV8 and Bc2 and am very happy with it. 1 remote and the Tv plays together nicely with my Lab3 speakers .....
