    Misc. Beocord Problems - 3300, 5500

Hi All - I am trying to get some old Beocord units working. Here's my problems:

    1) Beocord 5500 - everything works except the drawer in/out. One unit will go in slowly after a little encouragment but will not open at all.  The second won't do either.  Belts?  Also - how do you get access to belts, etc. for replecement (how does drawer come apart)?

    2) Beocord 3300 - Was working fine when stored 2 years ago. Now, unit powers up but heads & tape will not move.  When pushing play or forward/rewind buttons, unit tries to do something (clicks) for a second or two, then goes back to stop.

    Any help greatly appreciated.

Welcome to Beoworld and thanks for signing up as a silver member, thereby supporting us all !  Yes - thumbs up

Your Beocords are in need of new belts.
The 3300 is fairly easy, I can supply the belts and mounting instructions.

If a tape is stuck in the deck, don't force anything. The instructions will tell you how to get it out without damaging neither the tape nor the deck.

The 5500 is a bit harder since more than one type of autoreverse deck was used in production.
The drawer belt should be no problem though.
In short; Remove the top cover, unscrew and lift up the large circuit
board and you will have access to the drawer motor/belt.
As a silver member you have access to service manuals and other goodies from the
    download section. Smile

Thanks for the info, Martin.  I will work on the three units this weekend and get a better idea of what is going on.  I will post back here with more details.

Hi Martin, I am interested in belts for my Beocord 3300. I took it apart and the belts all need replacement. Instructions on removing the  belts would be appreciated.

Please contact me at your convenience.

    Thanks
