I just recently returned back home from Europe. In my travels, I was very fortunate to have visited the Czech factory. Last year I went to see the Struer factory and that in itself was amazing. First off, I want to say that if anyone doubts the quality of products from Czech, you would be very wrong to do so. What an amazing facility. I had to wear special clothing and grounding straps just to step foot in the factory. Everything there is being assembled by people, not machines, just like in Struer. Everything and everyone had its place, it was so organized. It was almost like visiting a swiss watch factory. Something that I realized that is really important, is that this facility is not just another plant. They are actually competing so to speak with Denmark, they want to build the highest quality product possible. I cant really say much more about what else I saw but just thought that I would share. By the way, if you dont know, Czech's history is filled with engineering achievements, its really is a good match for B&O in my opinion.  Sorry I cant post any pics, there were no cameras allowed of course. Thanks for this post Joe. I doubt I will ever go inside the factory in Czech, so it was interesting to hear what you had to say. I think it's very good that the Czech factory compete with Struer and can understand why this happens.

It is good to hear that the Czech Bang & Olufsen factory is that well organized. I was aware of the history of Czech engineering, but am pleased to hear that great technology is still produced there today.

It is definitively true that Czech engineering and manufacturing has always been first rate.  Unfortunately during the Soviet days, the entire Czech economy was nationalized resulting in stifled engineering and manufacturing by western standards.  This of course has changed dramatically.

I recently ordered a few smaller items from a dealer who said he would get them sent to me, straight from Struer.
I was supprised when the parcel arrived just two days later........from Czech!
Meticulously packed and documented. They obviouslyknow what they're about there.

And they certainly do guard their secrets: last time I tried I could only get that close with my camera. What you (barely) see on the picture is an otherwise nice lady trying to chase me away (no joke!)

It´s not a legacy from Denmark. In Struer you can easily walk to the windows and try to look inside. No fences and no outside guards.

How does one say "  Keep off the Grass  "  in Czech ?

She probably said something like this:

AŤ UŽ VÁS TU NEVIDÍM!

ZÁKAZ VSTUPU NA TRÁVNÍK! (Keep off the Grass)

Hello Tom,

All of the aluminum components are still made in Struer. The TVs will probably all be made in DK. Also, BL5s some other products will still be made in DK as well. That leaves a lot of other products to be made in Czech. Also, just about all of the spare parts are coming from CZ. I would imagine that if they keep up the good work, more production will be shifted there. Take care.

Does this mean that only parts are produced in the Czech Republic and then they will be assembled in Stuer?

Most things are manufactured in Struer, some assembled in there and some assembled in Czech. There are too many parts to know exactly where everything is from.
