Afternoon,
Since purchasing my BV7-40 MKIII and my installer damaging my 2m HDMI cable, and replacing it with a 5m cable, I've been wondering if the longer cable may lead to pixelisation issues.
However, whilst looking in to this possible problem, I noticed that the new BV7-40 is capable of displaying a 16-bit picture - thanks to the BS3 - but HDMI 1.3 is required for 16-bit (1 billion colours) images. As the BS3 doesn't support HDMI 1.3, does this mean we're limited to watching 8-bit images on our BV9, BV7 and other BS3-based TVs?
If so, then the B&O press release stating that the BV7-40 MKIII is capable of 16-bit pictures (1 billion colours) is questionable, as how would get the picture displayed in 16-bit colour?
Is the specification software-based, which means the BS3 could be upgraded, through software, to support HDMI 1.3, in the near future?
Chris.
