    Opening a Bno Shop

If I want to be a Bno retailer , how much money has to be invested ? Is there a place where I can find detailed information ?

I would think very carefully about this before committing. Certainly from the UK perspective the set-up costs/ equity required can be substantial. B&O operate a FRANCHISE model for the UK. If you are lucky enough to get a good franchise I am sure that this can be a very successful business. A number of shops have however gone under and if gossip is to be believed some others may well follow.

I have looked at the numbers in a professional capacity. Whilst they can stack up the shops require a fair level of activity to make financial sense. In good times this may be possible. If we are about to have a period of recession luxury retailers will feel the pinch first and any safety buffer may quickly disappear.

    Hmm

I believe Bang may be embarking on a new structure in Europe for its shops.

I wouldn't do it. Too much risk involved and not enough products in the range to make it worthwhile these days. Only a small percentage of products keep the range alive. While most major cities in Europe, not just the UK have a B&O franchise (apart from 1 that isn't franchised), you are now also competing against a number of growing AV shops selling B&O second-hand. If it was 20 years ago fine, but not these days. Domino's pizza or KFC franchises would be far more profitable although perhaps not quite as enjoyable! Good luck either way.

You all make very good points about the financial commitment that a franchisee makes in order to own their own B&O dealership, I too have looked at it, investment is high, margins are low and the luxury market is a small one in real terms.  I am sure that your local dealer would be delighted if you took all those points in to consideration the next time you're asking for dicount Stick out tongue

    That would be telling...

I would just say, they are looking at a better overall structure.

They also have some pretty exciting new products coming up....

There isn't much of a difference they can make to their existing structure! Retails is about buying and selling products! You need some knowledge of what you are selling and do it online, offline or both. That's pretty much all their is to it!
